How this program works
In partnership with the Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy
The Builders Track is a specialized program designed for highly motivated junior or senior undergraduate students eager to build and launch entrepreneurial projects. Spanning from Fall 2025 to Spring 2026, participants replaced traditional coursework with studio-based classes focused on development of their projects, supported by dedicated faculty guidance, structured milestones, and professional mentorship.

PATHWAY 01
Builders
Builders are contributors who join teams, eager to support projects and apply their skills collaboratively. They don’t have existing ideas but are eager to rigorously test their entrepreneurial capabilities. Through partnership with other students or faculty-guided challenges, they will identify market needs, validate customer demands, design viable solutions, and move quickly toward revenue generation by the end of the Spring semester.

Founders
Founders are leaders who bring their own ideas to life, initiating projects and guiding their direction. Their projects have tangible evidence of market traction, product-market fit, or active sales. Their project should be beyond the basic invention or early idea stage, ideally approaching market entry or already engaging customers.
Program Outcomes
Over the course of a single academic year, the first cohort of the Builders Track moved from early-stage ideas to measurable market results.
The Builders Track experience is built on weekly check-ins, "Next Hardest Problem" sessions, and hands-on faculty mentorship. Each milestone along the way, from validating customer demand to refining pitches under expert guidance, moved participants closer to functioning, revenue-generating ventures. That momentum came to a head at the program's open house, where students presented the outcomes of a year spent building, iterating, and, in some cases, pivoting entirely in response to market feedback.

Student Highlights
Gabe Kutner
Mobile App | Go-to-Market
"If I ever hit a wall, whether it's something I've never done before or something that scares me, I can look around and find someone in the room who's already been there.”
DoublePark is a mobile app tackling one of the most universally complained-about problems on college campuses. Unlike every other parking app that's come before it, DoublePark doesn't rely on cameras, hardware, university partnerships, or real-time data.
Instead, it works by connecting students directly, letting people who have a spot sell it to those who need one. No infrastructure required, just a peer-to-peer solution.
Canyon Sargent
Ski and snowboard apparel | Early Growth
“It's just goggles until they are worn. If the right people are wearing these, it totally shifts what the brand represents.”
Shifties makes custom graphic ski goggles, and they're exactly as fun as they sound. Founded by Canyon Sargent, the company was born from a simple observation working ski school at Snowbird.
Skiers love to express themselves through what they wear, and nobody had brought the energy of printed football visors to the mountain. Shifties changed that with bold graphic lenses, zero apologies, and the kind of product that makes people do a double take.
Derek Blodgett
Community Growth Agency | Early Growth
“The experience is what matters most, how people feel when they actually interact with the brand. That's what we fix.”
Social Hub is a customer experience consulting firm built on a simple but powerful belief. In an age of Al and automation, the feeling a brand creates is the last real differentiator. Founded by Derek Blodgett, Social Hub works with lifestyle and outdoor brands to identify where there customer journey is breaking down. The overall goal isn't just more followers. It's a brand that people actually feel something about and have an opinion on.”
